Biography
Alessandro Kramer, widely known as Bebê Kramer, is a celebrated accordionist and composer hailing from Vacaria, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. He began his musical journey at the tender age of eight, inspired by his father, Alencar Rodrigues, who was also a respected accordionist in the region. Kramer's musical development accelerated when he moved to Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, where he collaborated with prominent musicians such as Guinha Ramires, Alegre Correa, Toninho Horta, and Arismar do Espírito Santo. His early career also saw him form the band Dr. Cipó with Endrigo Bettega, Ronaldo Saggiorato, Guinha Ramires, and Mario Conde, with whom he recorded three influential albums.
Relocating to Rio de Janeiro in 2008, Kramer's musical horizons significantly broadened, solidifying his status as a prominent figure in contemporary Brazilian instrumental music. His solo debut, "A Casa," released in 2009, marked the beginning of a prolific solo career, further enriched by collaborations with esteemed artists like Yamandu Costa, Hermeto Pascoal, Carlos Malta, and Hamilton de Holanda. Kramer is recognized for his innovative musical aesthetic, which blends the distinct sounds of his native Rio Grande do Sul with diverse influences, characterized by his energetic performance style.
Bebê Kramer's artistry transcends regional boundaries, earning him acclaim both domestically and internationally. His album "Simpatia," a duo project with Yamandu Costa, garnered the Prêmio da Música Brasileira in 2022 for Best Instrumental Music Release. He has also led projects such as "Realejo" with Guto Wirtti and "Dança do Tempo" with Teco Cardoso and Swami Jr. Kramer's versatility is further showcased in his duo album "Como Manda o Figurino" with Toninho Ferragutti and the "Alessandro Kramer Quarteto." His music is a testament to his ability to fuse regional Brazilian rhythms with jazz harmonies and global influences, creating a unique and captivating sound.
