Biography
Bebel Gilberto is one of the most prominent representatives of Brazilian music on the international stage, recognized for her ability to fuse the tradition of bossa nova with contemporary textures of electronic and lounge music. Daughter of two icons of national culture, composer João Gilberto and singer Miúcha, and niece of Chico Buarque, Bebel began her artistic trajectory during childhood. At nine years old, she was already performing on prestigious stages such as Carnegie Hall and participating in classic children's projects like Pirlimpimpim and Saltimbancos.
Her professional career took shape in the 1980s, when she became a close collaborator of Cazuza, with whom she composed lasting hits such as "Preciso Dizer Que Te Amo". In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Bebel revolutionized her sound with the album "Tanto Tempo", a work that established the electronic bossa genre and transformed her into one of the best-selling Brazilian artists in the international market.
