Biography

Roberto "Beto" Lee de Carvalho is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and guitarist born in São Paulo. The son of iconic rock singer Rita Lee and guitarist Roberto de Carvalho, he began playing guitar at a young age and formed his first band as a teenager. Throughout his career, he has established himself as a prominent figure in Brazilian rock, playing in his mother's backing band for many years and contributing to several of her acclaimed albums and live recordings.

In addition to his work with Rita Lee, Beto Lee has pursued a solo career, releasing albums such as Todo Mundo É Igual and Celebração & Sacrifício, the latter of which won a Latin Grammy for Best Portuguese Language Rock Album. He has also collaborated with numerous notable Brazilian artists, including Titãs—whom he officially joined as a touring and recording guitarist—as well as figures like Zélia Duncan, Supla, and Milton Nascimento. Beyond his musical endeavors, he has worked as a television presenter for channels like Multishow, hosting programs focused on rock music and culture.

His musical style blends classic rock influences with Brazilian alternative rock sensibilities, maintaining a strong connection to the lineage of Brazilian pop-rock pioneered by his parents. Over the decades, he has remained an active force in the national music scene, participating in power trios like Galaxy and contributing compositions recorded by various artists.
