Biography

Felipe de Nóbrega Ribeiro, widely known as Bi Ribeiro, is a renowned Brazilian musician best recognized as the bassist for the iconic rock band Os Paralamas do Sucesso. Born in Rio de Janeiro, he spent part of his childhood in Brasília, where he met future bandmate Herbert Vianna. After returning to Rio de Janeiro for college studies, Ribeiro crossed paths with future drummer João Barone while attending the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro. Eventually, all three abandoned their academic pursuits to fully dedicate themselves to music, establishing a permanent legacy in Brazilian rock.

Throughout his career with Os Paralamas do Sucesso, Ribeiro has cemented his status as one of the country's finest bass players, known for his distinct groove and melodic contributions alongside Vianna and Barone. In addition to his primary work with the band, he founded the side project Reggae B in 2001, collaborating with notable artists such as Gustavo Black Alien and Bidu Cordeiro to explore classic reggae sounds. His extensive session work also includes recordings with prominent Brazilian acts like Jorge Ben Jor, Legião Urbana, and Raimundos, further broadening his musical footprint across diverse genres.
