Beatriz Campello Paes Leme, known professionally as Bia Paes Leme, is a Brazilian singer, instrumentalist, arranger, composer, and musicologist. Born in Rio de Janeiro on January 10, 1959, she has established herself as a multifaceted artist within the Brazilian music scene.

Paes Leme's academic background is as impressive as her artistic career. She pursued her studies in music at Pró-Arte, where she learned flute, theory, solfeggio, and musical perception. Furthering her education, she completed a Bachelor's degree in Composition at the Universidade do Rio de Janeiro (UNI-Rio) and later obtained a Master's degree in Brazilian Music from the same institution. Her dedication to learning and understanding music is also evident in her extensive teaching experience, including courses in Harmony and Counterpoint.

Throughout her career, Bia Paes Leme has collaborated with numerous renowned Brazilian artists, contributing her talents as an arranger and instrumentalist. She has worked with Chico Buarque, Zélia Duncan, and Clara Sandroni, among others. Her work as an arranger has been featured on various albums and live shows, showcasing her versatility and deep understanding of Brazilian musical styles. She also holds a significant position as the coordinator of the music collection at the Instituto Moreira Salles (IMS), further solidifying her role in preserving and promoting Brazilian musical heritage.
