Biography

Sylvia Dulce Kleiner, widely known by her stage name Bibi Vogel, was born in Rio de Janeiro on November 2, 1942. The daughter of German Jewish immigrants, she began her public career in the 1960s working as a model for brands like Rhodia, before successfully transitioning to acting in Brazilian film, theater, and television. Throughout her artistic career, she was part of the cast of notable productions, sharing the screen with renowned names such as Juca de Oliveira and Aracy Balabanian in highly successful soap operas, in addition to participating in important theatrical productions and national films.

Over the years, Bibi directed her energy toward social activism and feminist militancy, becoming an important voice in humanitarian causes. In the 1980s, she founded the Grupo de Mães Amigas do Peito, a pioneer in supporting and encouraging breastfeeding that would later consolidate as a non-governmental organization. She also directed the documentary Maternidade and engaged deeply in the fight for human and social rights, dividing her life between Brazil and Argentina, where she did her last television work before passing away in 2004.
