Biography

Bina & Ehud is a musical project that brings together Brazilian guitarist Bina Coquet and American organist Ehud Asherie. The duo was formed in New York City after the musicians met at a local bar, and their proposal is to fuse the sound of jazz with Brazilian rhythms, such as samba and forró. Bina & Ehud's work is frequently performed in the formation of an organ jazz trio, which includes a drummer.

The project has released albums such as "Samba De Gringo" (2004, 2007) and "Samba De Gringo 2" (2007), which feature original compositions and reinterpretations of Brazilian music classics, such as "Lamento Sertanejo" by Gilberto Gil and Dominguinhos, and "Telefone" by Roberto Menescal. The group's sound explores the interaction between Bina Coquet's guitar and Ehud Asherie's Hammond organ, resulting in a rich and diverse musical experience.

Bina Coquet, in addition to his work with Ehud, has collaborated with other important names in Brazilian music, such as Banda Mantiqueira, Trio Mocotó, Roberto Sion, and Hermeto Pascoal. Ehud Asherie, in turn, has partnerships in his resume with renowned jazz musicians, such as Jesse Davis, Jimmy Lovelace, Clark Terry, and Roy Ayers. This musical background of both artists contributes to the originality and quality of the Bina & Ehud project.
