Biography
Biquini Cavadão is a Brazilian rock band formed in 1985 in Rio de Janeiro. Emerging from the Colégio São Vicente de Paulo, the band had its origins in a group of friends who decided to play together at a school event. The inspiration for the name came from Herbert Vianna, of Os Paralamas do Sucesso, who suggested "Biquini Cavadão". With the support of Carlos Beni Borja (former drummer of Kid Abelha), the band recorded their first demo and sent it to Rádio Fluminense FM, where the song "Tédio" became a hit, boosting the group's career.
Throughout their trajectory, Biquini Cavadão has released several successful albums, such as "Cidades em Torrente" (1986), "A Era da Incerteza" (1987), and "Descivilização" (1991), which produced hits like "Vento Ventania" and "Zé Ninguém". The band stood out for their poetic lyrics and engaging melodies, winning a solid fan base and establishing themselves as one of the major names in national rock.
With a career spanning over three decades, Biquini Cavadão has maintained its core lineup, featuring Bruno Gouveia on vocals, Carlos Coelho on guitar, Miguel Flores on keyboards, and Álvaro Birita on drums. The band has participated in important festivals, such as Hollywood Rock and Rock in Rio, and remains active, releasing new work and performing shows throughout Brazil, maintaining the connection with their loyal audience.
