Biography

Boogarins is a prominent Brazilian psychedelic rock and neo-psychedelia band formed in 2012 in Goiânia by childhood friends Fernando "Dinho" Almeida and Benke Ferraz. Initially recording their material at home, the group caught the attention of the American label Other Music, which led to the release of their debut album, As Plantas Que Curam, in 2013. The lineup expanded with the addition of Raphael Vaz on bass and Ynaiã Benthroldo on drums, establishing the core quartet that would define the group's signature sound.

Following their initial success, the band embarked on extensive international tours across the Americas and Europe, performing at major festivals such as South by Southwest, Primavera Sound, and Lollapalooza. Their sophomore album, Manual (or Guia Livre de Dissolução dos Sonhos), recorded in Spain, earned a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Portuguese Language Rock Album in 2016. Throughout their career, Boogarins has continued to innovate, releasing critically acclaimed works like Lá Vem a Morte and Sombrou Dúvida, while collaborating with notable Brazilian artists such as Céu.

Over the years, the group has cemented its status as a vital force in contemporary Brazilian independent music, recognized for their hypnotic jams, atmospheric guitars, and immersive live performances. They celebrated a decade of their debut record with anniversary tours and continued to release celebrated studio projects like Bacuri. Their global reach and dedication to sonic exploration have positioned them alongside revered figures of the Brazilian psychedelic tradition.
