Biography

Bruna Viola, stage name of Bruna Villas Bôas Kamphorst, was born in Cuiabá on May 25, 1993. Raised amidst musical influences, she found her great passion in the viola caipira, adopting the instrument's name as her artistic surname and beginning her public journey at the age of eleven after receiving her first viola. Having major icons of traditional roots music as her main references, such as Tião Carreiro and Inezita Barroso, Bruna began to stand out in the traditional sertanejo music scene.

Faced with dozens of professional commitments and the choice between pursuing music or studying veterinary medicine, she chose to dedicate herself fully to her artistic career. She became affectionately known by fans as the "Flor Mato-grossense", bringing themes of farm life to her songs and performances throughout Brazil. In 2015, she released her first studio album, titled Sem Fronteiras, via Universal Music, a work that featured a collaboration with the duo César Menotti & Fabiano and placed a track on the soundtrack of the telenovela Velho Chico.

In 2016, she recorded her first live DVD at the Villa Country venue in São Paulo, bringing together a nationally and internationally renowned team for the technical and artistic production. With a consolidated career in the viola caipira, Bruna achieved national projection and received the Latin Grammy award in 2017, reaffirming her importance in the renewal of Brazilian sertanejo music alongside names such as Paula Fernandes and Almir Sater.
