Biography

Brylho was a prominent Brazilian soul and funk band formed in 1978 under the original name Brilho da Cidade. The group brought together a talented lineup of musicians, including Arnaldo Brandão, Cláudio Zoli, Paulo Zdanowski, Robério Rafael, Bolão, and Ricardo Cristaldi, establishing a strong presence in the national music scene during the late 1970s and early 1980s.

The band achieved notable success as a one-hit wonder with their iconic track "Noite do Prazer", featured on their self-titled debut album released in 1983. The song became widely popular and is fondly remembered for a famous lyrical misunderstanding by the public regarding one of its verses, cementing the group's legacy in Brazilian pop culture alongside contemporaries like Cláudio Zoli.

Following their dissolution in 1985, the members pursued various distinct musical and personal paths. Arnaldo Brandão went on to found the rock band Hanói-Hanói, while Cláudio Zoli embarked on a successful solo career, and Paulo Zdanowski formed Banda SoulRio, ensuring that the creative spirit of Brylho endured through future generations of Brazilian popular music.
