Biography

The Brazilian rock band Cachorro Grande was formed in 1999 in the city of Porto Alegre, establishing itself as one of the great exponents of the genre in the independent and national scene. Its best-known lineup featured Beto Bruno on vocals, Marcelo Gross on guitar, Rodolfo Krieger on bass, Pedro Pelotas on keyboards, and Gabriel Azambuja on drums. The group's name came from a gaucho expression used to define very complicated situations, inspired by the days when they played covers of great rock classics before consolidating their original repertoire.

Throughout its trajectory, the group released several prominent albums, passing through independent labels until achieving greater projection with the support of artists like Lobão and the release of striking works such as the album Pista Livre. The band also became known for memorable performances, including opening for the Rolling Stones in Porto Alegre and participating in important festivals and television projects. Even after going through lineup changes and announcing a hiatus in their journey, the group's legacy remains strong in the history of gaucho and Brazilian rock.
