Biography

Caçula e Marinheiro was a romantic sertanejo duo formed in 1960, consisting of Orlando Bianchi (Caçula) and Benedito Brás dos Reis (Marinheiro). Considered one of the most important of the genre in the 1960s and 1970s, the duo stood out for their smooth melodies, passionate lyrics, and emotional interpretations, gaining great popularity throughout Brazil.

Orlando Bianchi, known as Caçula, was born in São José do Rio Preto (SP) in 1934 and showed musical talent from an early age, performing as a accordion "child prodigy" on Rádio Rio Preto at seven years old, in 1941. Benedito Brás dos Reis, known as Marinheiro, was born in Piracanjuba (GO) in 1929. The duo was formed after they met at Rádio Bandeirantes in São Paulo, and soon began performing on the show "Alvorada Cabocla" on Rádio Nacional.

The duo recorded their first album in 1960 and, throughout their career, released around eight 78 RPM records and 18 LPs, with hits such as "Cantinho do Céu", "Milagre de Papai Noel", "Uma Cruz Desceu do Céu", and "A Dama de Vermelho". The musical partnership of Caçula and Marinheiro marked an era on the radio, on stages, and in the hearts of the public, leaving a significant legacy in Brazilian sertanejo music.
