Biography

The band Calcinha Preta emerged on December 8, 1995, in the city of Aracaju, founded by businessman and music producer Gilton Andrade. Throughout its trajectory in electronic forró, the group stood out for its superproductions, strong romantic appeal, and Portuguese adaptations of major international rock and pop hits. The band's lineup went through countless changes over the years, featuring the tenures and returns of several notable vocalists, such as Daniel Diau, Paulinha Abelha, Silvânia Aquino, and Bell Oliver.

One of the moments of greatest national projection occurred in 2009, with the success of the song "Você Não Vale Nada", which was part of the soundtrack of the soap opera Caminho das Índias and earned the band several prominent awards. In addition, the group recorded historic DVDs and carried out international tours, consolidating itself as one of the main exponents of the genre in Brazil, alongside artists like Limão com Mel and Banda Magníficos.

Even facing losses and constant reformulations in its roster of members — including the passing of Paulinha Abelha in 2022 —, Calcinha Preta remained active and relevant in the northeastern and national music scene. The group continued to pack arenas and release commemorative audiovisual projects, such as the Atemporal trilogy, reaffirming its legacy in the history of Brazilian electronic forró.
