Calé Alencar is a prominent Brazilian singer, songwriter, and music producer born in Fortaleza and raised in Juazeiro do Norte. He first gained national attention in 1979 by participating in the multicultural movement Massafeira Livre, which helped establish his reputation for blending urban elements with traditional popular culture. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with legendary Brazilian artists such as Téti, Paulo Moura, Tetê Espíndolla, and Geraldo Azevedo, bridging regional Ceará traditions with broader MPB movements.

As a recording artist, Alencar released notable albums such as Um Pé Em Cada Porto in 1990 and Estação do Trem Imaginário in 1992, showcasing sophisticated arrangements and deep roots in Brazilian popular music. His artistic endeavors also extend to international stages, having performed at summer festivals and cultural showcases in European countries like France and Belgium, including a notable performance at the Cité de la Musique in Paris alongside the Banda Cabaçal dos Irmãos Aniceto.
