Biography

José Feliciano de Faria, known artistically as Canada, was born in Santa Cruz do Rio Pardo, São Paulo, on September 29, 1944. He began his musical journey in his youth, initially working as a mechanic while dedicating his free time to performing in bars and restaurants.

In 1979, Canada independently released his first album. Over the years, he continued to release music, including four vinyl LPs and two CDs. A notable collaboration occurred in 2001 when he met Continesse, with whom he recorded the songs "Nas filas da vida" and "Fio da meada." These collaborations were featured on the CD "Sertanejo music premium," released by Sonopress.

Canada's work is part of the rich tapestry of Brazilian popular music, often drawing from sertanejo and other regional styles. His career, though not as widely documented as some mainstream artists, represents a significant contribution to the diverse soundscape of Brazil. He is recognized for his independent spirit and his dedication to his craft throughout his career.
