Biography

Capsula is a psychedelic rock band formed in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1998. The group established itself as a power trio, composed of Martín Guevara (guitar and vocals), Coni Duchess (Lisica) (bass and vocals), and Gonzalo Criado (drums). Their music is a fusion of psychedelic rock and alternative rock, marked by powerful riffs and a guitar-centric sound. The band moved to Bilbao, Spain, in 2002, where they continued to develop their career, gaining recognition in Europe, the United States, and South America.

The band's trajectory includes collaborations with renowned producers such as Tony Visconti and John Agnello, who have worked with artists like David Bowie and Sonic Youth, respectively. The influence of bands like Os Mutantes and The Velvet Underground is noticeable in their sound, which also incorporates elements of space rock, garage rock, punk, and post-punk. The band has released several studio albums, including "Sublime" (1999), "Yudoka" (2000), "Cápsula" (2002), "Songs & Circuits" (2006), "Rising Mountains" (2009), "Solar Secrets" (2013), "Santa Rosa" (2016), "Bestiarium" (2019), and "Phantasmaville" (2021).

In 2026, a new lineup of the band Capsula emerged in Belo Horizonte, featuring Érika Martins (Penélope), Fernando Americano (thesurfmotherfuckers, Penélope), Haroldo Ferretti, and Lelo Zaneti (both from Skank). This new project, which released the single "Dopamina", seeks to value more organic composition and recording processes, reacting against music production driven solely by metrics and algorithms, and blending elements of pop, post-punk, dub, indie rock, and adult-oriented rock.
