Biography

Carlinhos Felix, artistic name of José Carlos Felix, was born in Rio de Janeiro on January 25, 1962. A singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, he is widely recognized as one of the central figures in the renewal of Christian music in Brazil, having been a member of the famous group Rebanhão before establishing a solid solo career starting in the 1990s.

His artistic career began professionally in the late 1970s as the bassist for the progressive rock band Sinal Verde, before joining Janires and other musicians to form Rebanhão, a band connected to the Copacabana Prescriptive Church that revolutionized the gospel genre with rock and pop influences. Following Janires' departure, Felix took on a prominent vocal role alongside names like Pedro Braconnot and Paulo Marotta, recording fundamental albums such as Mais Doce que o Mel and Luz do Mundo, in addition to collaborating with high-impact projects like Banda e Voz.

In 1991, he launched his solo career with the release of the album Coisas da Vida, subsequently leaving Rebanhão to focus on independent and commercially successful productions, including landmark works like Basta Querer and Ao Vivo no Canecão. Throughout a career spanning nearly forty years, the artist also lived in the United States for a period, founded a music school in Espírito Santo, and accumulated awards and honors that attest to his historical relevance to Brazilian evangelical culture.
