Biography

Cavalera Conspiracy is a Brazilian thrash metal band formed in Phoenix, Arizona, in 2007. The group was founded by Brazilian brothers Max Cavalera and Igor Cavalera, both legendary former members of the iconic metal band Sepultura. Their reunion marked the end of a ten-year estrangement following Max's departure from Sepultura in 1996, bringing the siblings back together to create aggressive and powerful music once again.

Initially performing under the name Inflikted, the brothers were later forced to change the moniker due to legal reasons, adopting Cavalera Conspiracy instead. Their debut album, Inflikted, was released in 2008 to critical acclaim, recapturing the raw, punishing sound of classic 1980s thrash metal. Throughout their career, the band has continued to release brutal records such as Blunt Force Trauma, Pandemonium, and Psychosis, collaborating with musicians like Marc Rizzo and Joe Duplantier.

The band stands as a cornerstone of Brazilian heavy metal heritage abroad, heavily tied to the legacy of Sepultura and Max Cavalera's other major project, Soulfly. By bridging the gap between their historic roots and modern metal aggression, the Cavalera brothers have cemented their status as international ambassadors of Brazilian extreme music.
