Biography

Caviar com Rapadura is a Brazilian electronic forró band founded in 1996 in Fortaleza, Ceará, by businessman Zequinha Aristides. The band's historical roots trace back to the early 1990s under the brand Kaviá com Rapadura, created by José Almir before being acquired and heavily invested in by Aristides to establish a new musical project. Throughout its decades-long career, the band has achieved nationwide recognition not only for its energetic style of forró but also for holding a record in vocalist turnover, having featured dozens of singers over the years.

Over the course of numerous studio albums and live recordings, the band's revolving door of vocalists included notable artists such as Xand Avião, Solange Almeida, Vicente Nery, Aduílio Mendes, Kelvis Duran, Berg Rabelo, Berg Lima, and Joelma Rios. Their expansive discography features specialized tribute projects like "Caviar Canta Amado Batista" and "Caviar com Rapadura canta Reginaldo Rossi," alongside major releases such as "Viver por Você," "Don't Go," and "Lua dos Namorados." The group also famously served as a formative testing ground for artists who later achieved massive commercial success in the Brazilian forró scene, including Xand Avião and Solange Almeida prior to their formation of Aviões do Forró.

In addition to its prolific musical output, Caviar com Rapadura has achieved several unique milestones, such as having their song "Zum Zum Zum" featured on the soundtrack of the Rede Record telenovela "Balacobaco" and launching their own signature perfume in partnership with Wu Perfumaria. The band has continually adapted through numerous lineup changes, welcoming back former members and introducing new talent over the years while maintaining a permanent presence in the northeastern forró electronic landscape alongside contemporaries like Calcinha Preta and Mastruz com Leite.
