Biography

Cesar Ladeira was born in Campinas in 1910 and established himself as one of the greatest icons of the golden age of radio in Brazil, in addition to becoming historically known as "The Voice of the Constitutionalist Revolution" of 1932. He began his artistic and professional career in 1931 at Rádio Record, quickly standing out for his striking voice and his work in high-rating programs, which also led him to work as an artistic director and influence the broadcasting style of the era.

Throughout his radio career, he played a fundamental role in building the myths of MPB and Brazilian popular music by christening major stars with unforgettable nicknames, such as Francisco Alves, Carmen Miranda, Carlos Galhardo, Sílvio Caldas, and Emilinha Borba. His influence extended to Rádio Mayrink Veiga and Rádio Nacional, where he hosted enormously successful programs, besides being one of the founders of Rádio Relógio and working in film and television.

His personal and family life was also deeply connected to national culture, being the husband of actress Renata Fronzi and the father of musicians Cesar Fronzi Ladeira and Renato Fronzi Ladeira, members of the band A Bolha and the group Herva Doce. Cesar Ladeira passed away in Rio de Janeiro in 1969, leaving an undying legacy in the history of Brazilian broadcasting.
