Biography

César Maurício is a musician, composer, and visual artist born in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, in 1964. His musical career stands out for founding influential bands in the national rock scene, such as Virna Lisi and Radar Tantã. With Virna Lisi, a band considered fundamental in the recent history of Brazilian rock, he recorded three CDs and participated in several compilations. After the group's end in 1997, César Maurício continued his trajectory with Radar Tantã, which gained recognition and awards, especially for its animated music videos, directed by himself. His musical work also extends to partnerships with renowned artists from Minas Gerais, such as Lô Borges, Samuel Rosa, and Márcio Borges, strengthening his presence in the artistic scene of Minas Gerais and Brazil.

In addition to his work as a musician, César Maurício has a degree in Animation Cinema and is a visual artist with several exhibitions. His versatility led him to explore other artistic languages, integrating visual elements into his musical projects, such as electronic stage design and videos. He has also dedicated himself to producing albums for other artists and making films, such as "Macacos Me Mordam", which was awarded in Portugal. His trajectory is marked by intense and plural production, recognized by critics and the press.

Throughout his career, César Maurício released his first solo album and a book of poems and song lyrics, celebrating his 20 years of artistic activity. He has also been involved in social and cultural projects, such as co-ideating the Cultural Guide of Slums and Favela Communities (Guia Cultural de Vilas e Favelas) and artistic coordination for the NGO Favela é Isso Aí. His work continues to expand the boundaries between music, visual arts, and cinema, consolidating him as a multifaceted and relevant artist in Brazilian culture.
