Biography

Cezar & Paulinho is a renowned Brazilian musical duo formed by brothers Sebastião Cezar Franco and Paulo Roberto Franco, originating from Piracicaba, São Paulo. Born into a musical family as sons of Craveiro—from the traditional duo Craveiro e Cravinho—they grew up immersed in rural roots music and traditional viola circles alongside legends like Tião Carreiro. Mentored by the famous duo João Mineiro & Marciano, they released their debut record in 1974 and quickly became pillars of the genre.

Throughout a career spanning over four decades, the duo has released numerous successful albums and landmark DVDs, blending traditional caipira sounds with contemporary country themes. Their extensive discography features memorable hits such as "Noite Maravilhosa," "Loira do Carro Branco," and "Você É Tudo Que Pedi pra Deus," the latter composed by Roberta Miranda. Known for their charismatic stage presence and signature catchphrases, they have collaborated with various icons of Brazilian sertanejo music, including Chitãozinho & Xororó and Leonardo.

The brothers continue to cement their legacy as one of the most traditional and respected acts in Brazilian sertanejo history. Their tribute projects, such as the Alma Sertaneja series, successfully honor the roots of caipira music while introducing classic rural sounds to new generations.
