Biography

Chico Brown, stage name of Francisco Buarque de Freitas, was born in Rio de Janeiro on August 24, 1996. The son of Carlinhos Brown and Helena Buarque de Holanda, he carries a strong artistic lineage as the grandson of Chico Buarque and Marieta Severo, having grown up immersed in an environment of intense cultural and musical richness.

His journey in music began to gain prominence when he joined the Rio de Janeiro rap group 3030 as a guitarist. In 2017, he took an important step as a songwriter by releasing the track "Massarandupió" on the acclaimed album "Caravanas" by his grandfather Chico Buarque. His skill in composition and instrumentation continued to stand out in the following years, collaborating with major names in Brazilian music.

In the year 2021, Chico Brown expanded his work by co-writing five tracks on the album "Portas" by singer Marisa Monte. In 2022, he teamed up with Pedro Luís and Carlos Rennó to compose "Hino ao Inominável", a politically charged song recorded in partnership with several renowned artists from the national scene, such as Lenine and Zélia Duncan.
