Biography
Chico Chico, born Francisco Ribeiro Eller in 1993, is a prominent Brazilian singer-songwriter hailing from Rio de Janeiro. As the son of the legendary rock icon Cássia Eller and bassist Tavinho Fialho, he was raised in a deeply musical environment by Cássia and her partner Maria Eugênia. Although he initially considered careers in sports or geography, his musical journey began in earnest during his teenage years, eventually leading him to adopt his stage name in 2015 with the launch of the band 2x0 Vargem Alta.\n\nHis artistic identity is defined by a versatile blend of MPB, rock, folk, and traditional Brazilian rhythms like frevo and forró. Throughout his career, Chico Chico has balance collaborative projects with solo ventures. He gained significant critical acclaim for his partnership with João Mantuano; their song 'A Cidade' was nominated for a Latin Grammy. His solo debut album, 'Pomares' (2021), also received a Latin Grammy nomination for Best MPB Album and featured a touching tribute to his mothers.
