Biography

Cidade Verde Sounds is a Brazilian reggae and dancehall duo formed in Maringá, Paraná, in 2005. Composed of Adonai (vocalist and lyricist) and Paulo Dub Mastor (DJ and producer), the group stands out for its fusion of reggae, rap, dub, and electronic elements, bringing a modern approach to the genre. Since the beginning, the duo has taken their message all over Brazil, winning over fans with their musicality and attitude.

Throughout their career, Cidade Verde Sounds has released acclaimed albums like "Missão de Paz" and "O Jogo", alongside EPs and singles that have solidified their presence in the music scene. Their lyrics address social issues, spirituality, and positivity, inspired by Jamaican sound system culture. The band has toured northeastern Brazil and collaborated with renowned artists, both national and international, such as Mad Professor, Peter Ranking, Eek-a-Mouse, Sizzla, and Negra Li, which attests to the quality and reach of their work.

The duo has also ventured into projects like the documentary "Cidade Verde Sounds - in Jamaica", filmed in 2014, which portrays the group's immersion in Jamaican culture and the production of a self-titled record at Tuff Gong studios. Recently, they released the DVD "10 Anos de Missão de Paz", featuring guest appearances by artists such as Planta e Raiz, Rael, Marina Peralta, Fábio Brazza, and MC Kako, celebrating a decade of one of their most important works and reaffirming their commitment to the music and the message they convey.
