Cláudio Rios is a Brazilian singer and songwriter renowned for his contributions to forró music, particularly within the vaquejada (a traditional Brazilian rodeo) subgenre. Born in São José da Laje, Alagoas, he began his artistic career in 1985, initially as a vaquejada announcer and "aboiador" (a singer of traditional cattle-herding songs). His talent quickly gained recognition, leading to his first recording in 1988, a vinyl release featuring "Aboios e Toadas" (Cattle Calls and Traditional Songs).

His music often draws inspiration from the rural life of the Brazilian Northeast, with themes revolving around love, cattle, and the vaquejada culture. Rios is widely known as the "Vaqueiro do Forró" (The Vaquejada Cowboy of Forró), a title reflecting his deep connection to this cultural practice. Over his career, he has released numerous LPs and CDs, selling over a million copies and solidifying his status as an icon of Northeastern music. His songs, such as "É o Boi, o Cavalo e o Vaqueiro" and "Canção do Lenço e São João em São Miguel," have become anthems in the region.
