Biography

Luís Cláudio Venturini, born in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, on August 14, 1958, is a prominent Brazilian guitarist, vocalist, and composer.

Venturini began his musical journey in 1978, contributing to the album "A Via Láctea" by his friend Lô Borges. A year later, he co-founded the influential band 14 Bis, alongside his brother Flávio Venturini, and has remained a core member since its inception. In 1987, when Flávio departed from the group, Cláudio stepped into the role of lead vocalist, imbuing the band with a fresh sound and direction. He has been instrumental in composing many of 14 Bis's greatest hits, including "Mesmo de Brincadeira," "Xadrês Chinês," "Sonhando o Futuro," and "Canções de Guerra."

Throughout his career, Venturini has been associated with the vibrant Minas Gerais music scene, often linked to the Clube da Esquina movement. His guitar work is characterized by its melodic sensibility and technical proficiency, contributing significantly to the pop-rock sound of 14 Bis, which often incorporates elements of MPB and progressive rock. He has also collaborated with various artists, further enriching the Brazilian musical landscape.
