Biography

Claudionor Germano da Hora was born in Recife on August 10, 1932, establishing himself as one of the most important voices in Pernambuco's music and frevo. His artistic career began in 1947 at Rádio Clube de Pernambuco, where he joined the ensemble Ases do Ritmo, a group that would be elected the best vocal group in the state the following year. Over the years, he expanded his work to other broadcasters such as Rádio Jornal do Commercio and Rádio Tamandaré, building a solid reputation in the radio and recording industry.

The singer's career is marked by fundamental partnerships with great composers of Northeastern culture, standing out as the national interpreter who recorded the most songs by a single composer, totaling 132 recorded tracks by Capiba. In addition, his repertoire consecrated works by important names in Brazilian music, such as Nelson Ferreira and Antônio Maria, immortalizing classics of carnival and traditional genres of Pernambuco.

His prominence crossed state borders with prominent participations in highly relevant national festivals, such as the International Song Festival in the 1966, 1967, and 1968 editions, where he performed compositions by Capiba alongside partners like Ascenso Ferreira. With an extensive discography that ranges from classic LPs to thematic CDs released from the 2000s onward, Claudionor also took the strength of frevo to international stages on tours that passed through Miami, New York, and Tokyo.
