Biography

Claustrofobia is a Brazilian death and thrash metal band founded in 1994, in the city of Leme, in the state of São Paulo, by brothers Marcus D'Angelo and Caio D'Angelo. Throughout decades of dedication to the underground scene, the group has established itself as one of the main exponents of national extreme metal, earning great recognition both in Brazil and abroad, with a notable fan base in Eastern Europe.

With a solid trajectory marked by national and international tours, the band has shared the stage with global icons of the genre and participated in major festivals. Among their career milestones are the release of acclaimed albums such as Peste, from 2011 — the first composed entirely in Portuguese —, and Download Hatred, from 2016, which featured guest appearances by musicians such as Andreas Kisser and Moyses Kolesne.

In 2019, Claustrofobia performed a historic set at the Rock in Rio festival alongside Torture Squad, as well as opening Slayer's final show in São Paulo. Remaining active and influential, the band released their seventh studio album in 2022, titled Unleeched, further expanding their international presence with tours in the United States.
