Biography

Clayton Gama is a Brazilian accordionist, sanfoneiro, and music educator who has carved a significant niche in the Brazilian music scene, particularly within the genres of Forró and Baião. Born in Mauá, São Paulo, on February 17, 1988, Gama's roots are deeply connected to the Northeastern Brazilian culture, as his parents were from that region. His musical journey began at a young age, inspired by his father, who played the accordion as a hobby. By the age of 12, Clayton was already mastering the instrument, and by 13, he was performing in São Paulo's bars and music venues.

Throughout his career, Gama has been influenced by a pantheon of Brazilian musical giants, including Dominguinhos, Sivuca, Hermeto Pascoal, Gilberto Gil, and Milton Nascimento, among others. His early career saw him embark on his first tour at 15 with João da Passarada. From 2005 to 2010, he was a member of the acclaimed Trio Araripe, sharing stages with renowned artists like Elba Ramalho and Jair Rodrigues, and touring extensively across Brazil. He also collaborated with Duani Martins and Mariana Aydar in the "Forró da Samba" project.

Gama's talent has been recognized through numerous television appearances and collaborations. He accompanied the legendary Dominguinhos in various shows and TV programs, including "Sr. Brasil" and "Prêmio Tim." In 2014, he joined the band Bicho de Pé, which led to their participation in the reality show "SuperStar," significantly boosting the group's national and international profile. Gama has also performed with artists such as Ivete Sangalo and Zeca Baleiro. Beyond his performance career, Clayton Gama is also dedicated to music education, offering courses and workshops on the accordion, sharing his knowledge and passion for Brazilian music with aspiring musicians worldwide.
