Biography

Cleberson Horsth Vieira de Gouvea was born in Manhumirim, Minas Gerais, on February 1, 1950, moving to Rio de Janeiro in his childhood. With a solid classical background that included studies at the National School of Music, he began his artistic journey influenced by his father, who encouraged him to play the accordion before transitioning to the organ and piano. His career gained national prominence when he joined the band Os Famks and, later, solidified his position as one of the founding members and keyboardist of the renowned group Roupa Nova.

Throughout decades of dedication to Roupa Nova, Cleberson became notable not only as an instrumentalist, but also as a composer of major hits in MPB and national romantic pop. Among his most emblematic creations are "Volta Pra Mim", in partnership with Ricardo Feghali, "A Viagem", composed alongside Aldir Blanc, and "Seguindo no Trem Azul", with Ronaldo Bastos. His talent as a composer and arranger also led him to collaborate with prominent names in Brazilian music, such as Milton Nascimento, Rita Lee, Gal Costa, and Roberto Carlos.

In addition to his landmark work with Roupa Nova, Cleberson established himself as a prominent music producer, producing important Christian music albums alongside Ricardo Feghali, including records by singer Aline Barros that received Latin Grammys. His artistic versatility, contributions to telenovela soundtracks, and indelible contribution to the Brazilian pop sound secure him a place of absolute prominence in the country's musical history.
