Biography

Cleto Baccic is a Brazilian actor and producer, widely recognized for his contributions to musical theater. Born in Garanhuns, Pernambuco, Baccic has established himself as a prominent figure in the Brazilian musical scene, often referred to as the "third largest producer of musical theater spectacles in the world". His career began with classical theater, performing in plays by Shakespeare, Tom Stoppard, and R.W. Fassbinder. He later transitioned to musical theater, a genre he has championed throughout his career.

Baccic has starred in numerous acclaimed Broadway productions staged in Brazil, including "Cats" (as Rum Tum Tugger), "Mamma Mia!" (as Harry Bright), and "The Drowsy Chaperone" (as Adolpho). He received the APCA Award for Best Actor in 2014 for his portrayal of Cervantes/Don Quixote in "Man of La Mancha," a role that garnered significant critical acclaim. His work in "Man of La Mancha" was particularly impactful, with the production offering free access to nearly half a million spectators through partnerships with SESI-SP and FIESP.

Beyond his acting roles, Baccic is also an educator and producer. He developed and coordinated the Musical Theater Actor Training Program for SESI-SP and has been involved in various theatrical productions as a producer. His dedication to the art form extends to his role as director of SESI's Musical Theatre Conservatory. Baccic's influence is also seen in his advocacy for the growth of musical theater in Brazil, highlighting the increasing quality and professionalization within the industry, making it a significant global player.
