Biography
O Cogumelo Plutão is a Brazilian rock band formed in 1997, standing out on the national music scene starting in 2000. The group achieved massive projection with the resounding success of the song "Esperando na Janela", which was part of the soundtrack of the telenovela Laços de Família, sold more than two million units and secured a double diamond record certification, in addition to boosting their debut album Biblioteca de Sonhos.
Throughout their trajectory, marked by breaks and returns due to the health issues of vocalist Blanch Van Gogh, the band placed other prominent compositions on television soundtracks, such as "Adormecendo" in Amor Eterno Amor and "Uma Vez Mais", the latter performed by Ivo Pessoa in Alma Gêmea. The group also composed "Beijar na Boca", which became a major national hit in the voice of Claudia Leitte and gained international projection in Latin re-recordings.
After celebrating the 25th anniversary of their debut album with tours and new releases, Cogumelo Plutão remained active with EPs, rarity albums, and live recordings in Porto Alegre. Along this festive and repertoire-rescuing path, the band shared the stage with artists and groups like Garotos da Rua, Duca Leindecker, Vera Loca, and Cidadão Quem, celebrating their relevance within national rock.
