Biography

Collo de Menina is a prominent Brazilian electronic forró band originally formed in the city of Uiraúna, Paraíba, on October 13, 2001, by singer and entrepreneur Erivan Morais. The group quickly established a following by performing at traditional June festivals, local patron saint celebrations, and political emancipation events across small municipalities before expanding their tour circuit to major capitals throughout the Northeast and the rest of Brazil. Throughout their career, they have been associated with the BCM Produções umbrella and have seen several singers pass through their ranks, including early members like Kelly Freitas and Neto Araújo, who had previously sung with Cavaleiros do Forró.

The band achieved significant commercial success during their active decades, recording six full-length studio albums and two live DVDs. Their fourth and fifth albums notably achieved gold certification for surpassing 50,000 physical copies sold, a feat later repeated by their second DVD released in late 2007, which also earned a gold record. In addition to these sales milestones, the band was recognized for their regional impact when they won the Best Forró Band of the Year award from TV Diário in Fortaleza, Ceará, in 2003.

Following periods of hiatus and changes in lineup, Collo de Menina announced their official return to musical activities in 2024, hosting a live stream on YouTube to introduce a fresh generation of vocalists including Roberta Felina and Matheus Leitte. The group's legacy continued to intertwine with its history when former vocalist Neto Araújo returned to the group in late 2025, remaining with them until his passing in July 2026. Sharing musical affinities with other notable northeastern acts, the group remains a beloved fixture of modern forró alongside artists like Mastruz com Leite and Limão com Mel.
