Biography
Consagrassamba is a pagode group formed in 1995 in the city of Guarulhos, São Paulo. The band started informally in samba circles and, over time, its members decided to professionalize the project. The group consists of Augusto Araújo (vocals), Daniel de Souza (guitar and vocals), Rodrigo de Souza (keyboard and vocals), Jean Claude (cavaquinho and vocals), Fabiano de Souza (bass and vocals), Leandro Rezende (pandeiro and vocals), and Rogério Taveira (percussion and vocals).
Throughout their career, Consagrassamba has opened for major names in samba and pagode, such as Katinguelê, Exaltasamba, Molejo, Sensação, and Soweto. In addition, they have shared the stage with renowned artists like Almir Guineto, Fundo de Quintal, Zeca Pagodinho, Jorge Aragão, Arlindo Cruz, and Sombrinha. The group's musical production featured renowned percussionist Laércio da Costa.
In 2000, Consagrassamba released their debut CD, titled "Amor Dividido", independently. The album brought songs that reflected the essence of São Paulo's pagode, consolidating the group's presence in the music scene. The group is an example of the renewal and continuity of the pagode genre in the Brazilian music scene, maintaining the tradition of samba with fresh arrangements.
