Biography

Costa Gold is a Brazilian hip-hop group formed in São Paulo in 2012. Initially composed of Lucas Predella and Adonai, the group evolved over the years, incorporating other musicians. By 2015, the core lineup solidified into a trio consisting of DJ Cidy, MC Lucas Predella, and MC Caio Nog.

The group gained significant traction with the release of their mixtape "Epifania" in 2013, followed by the highly successful album "155" in 2015. This album marked a pivotal moment, producing numerous hits and establishing Costa Gold as a prominent force in the Brazilian rap scene. Their music is characterized by a unique aesthetic, incorporating distinct flows, ad-libs, and instrumentals, often weaving in references to a lifestyle popularized in international hip-hop culture. This approach initially generated some surprise within the Brazilian rap community, which was accustomed to more traditional lyrical themes.

In 2019, Costa Gold signed with the record label Som Livre, embarking on the "Projeto 6" CD, which was planned to be released in two parts, "Azul" and "Vermelho." They also released the music video "Sereia" and, in 2020, collaborated with the group Cacife Clandestino on the "Cacife Gold" EP. Their musical evolution has seen them experiment with different styles, finding renewed success in the trap genre while also exploring individual projects that contribute to the group's overall appeal. Costa Gold's journey reflects a dynamic adaptation to the ever-changing landscape of Brazilian urban music.
