Biography

Paulo Alexandre Almeida Santos, better known by his stage name Coyote Beatz, is a Brazilian music producer, beatmaker, and DJ originally from Belo Horizonte. His musical journey began in his adolescence, combining a passion for electronic beats with skate culture and the influence of his urban experience. Over time, he stood out for his unique ability to create instrumentals that blend subgenres such as boom bap and trap, while also incorporating references from diverse styles like classic rock and traditional samba.

Coyote's national recognition was primarily cemented through his long-standing partnerships with rapper Djonga and the collective DV Tribo, of which he was a part. He produced fundamental albums of contemporary Brazilian rap, such as Heresia, O Menino Queria Ser Deus, Ladrão, and Histórias da Minha Área. In addition to his work with Djonga, Coyote has collaborated with major names in the national scene such as Emicida, Baco Exu do Blues, Sidoka, FBC, Hot and Oreia, Clara Lima, and MC Rashid, while also expanding his influence to the international scene by working with artists like Akua Naru and the duo The Underachievers.

Throughout his career, the producer has accumulated major milestones, including winning the Genius Brasil de Música Brasileira Award in the producer category in 2018. His legacy in music production is reflected in the originality of the sonic atmospheres he builds, which are fundamental to defining the aesthetic identity of several of modern national rap's biggest hits.
