Biography

Cris Braun is a Brazilian singer and songwriter born in Estrela in 1962. After spending her formative years studying acoustic guitar in Maceió, she relocated to Rio de Janeiro in 1980, where she would live for over two decades and establish her presence in the national rock and pop scenes. During the 1990s, she gained prominence as a member of the rock group Sex Beatles, with whom she recorded two albums under the production of figures like Dado Villa Lobos and Tom Capone.

Transitioning to a solo career, she released her debut album, Cuidado com pessoas como eu, in 1997 through Marina Lima's Fullgás label, earning critical acclaim, award nominations, and radio airplay. Throughout her career, she has collaborated extensively as a songwriter with notable artists such as Paula Toller, Leoni, and George Israel, contributing hits like Como é que eu vou embora? to Kid Abelha's repertoire. Her subsequent solo releases, including Atemporal in 2004, Fábula in 2012, and later projects produced alongside Dinho Zampier, further expanded her discography with cinematic soundscapes and reimagined compositions.

Having shared stages with legends like Rita Lee and performed at iconic venues across Brazil, Braun remains an influential figure in Brazilian independent rock and pop. Her artistic journey reflects a continuous evolution, blending alternative rock roots with sophisticated songwriting and contemporary production collaborations involving artists like Wado and Marina Lima.
