Dadi Carvalho is a renowned Brazilian musician, bassist, and multi-instrumentalist born in Rio de Janeiro. He rose to fame in the 1970s as a member of the legendary band Novos Baianos, contributing to their iconic album Acabou Chorare. Throughout his career, he also played a vital role in groups such as A Cor do Som and Barão Vermelho, establishing himself as one of Brazil's most sought-after studio and touring musicians.

In addition to his work with bands, Dadi has collaborated with a vast array of Brazilian music royalty, including Caetano Veloso—who notably wrote the song O Leãozinho in his honor—Marisa Monte, Rita Lee, Jorge Ben Jor, and Moraes Moreira. He was also a key participant in the acclaimed Tribalistas project alongside Marisa Monte, Arnaldo Antunes, and Carlinhos Brown.
