Dalva Torres is a prominent Brazilian singer, composer, and pianist, widely recognized as the "Diva do Choro". Born in Moreno, Pernambuco, she has established herself as a significant interpreter of choro and frevo de bloco. Her musical journey began in childhood, with piano lessons from her parents, and she later honed her skills further, even during her time at the Colégio Damas. Although she pursued a career in law and worked as a Labor Tax Auditor, music remained a constant passion. After retiring from her auditing career, Dalva returned to her musical studies with renowned masters, deepening her knowledge in harmony and performance.

Her career gained national recognition through the Projeto Pixinguinha in 1984, where she opened for the legendary Elizeth Cardoso, an artist with whom she developed a close friendship. This led to her being invited as the national attraction for the Projeto Pixinguinha in 1985, solidifying her presence on the national music scene. Dalva Torres has collaborated with various artists, including Jards Macalé, and has paid tribute to composers like Ismael Silva and Nelson Ferreira. Her work often explores themes of life, emotions, and spirituality, reflecting her deep Catholic faith.

In recent years, Dalva Torres has continued to release new material, such as her album "A Leveza Nua das Horas," which features a collection of songs from different generations and genres, including compositions by female artists. The album and its accompanying show have been praised for their artistic conception, blending music with theatrical elements and personal reflections.
