Biography
Daniel Jobim was born in Rio de Janeiro and has built a solid career as a singer, songwriter, and pianist, carrying on his family's important legacy in Brazilian popular music. The grandson of the renowned maestro Tom Jobim and son of the acoustic guitarist Paulo Jobim, he was immersed from an early age in the universe of bossa nova and MPB, collaborating throughout his career with great icons such as Caetano Veloso, Chico Buarque, Gal Costa, and Gilberto Gil.
His artistic versatility led him to be part of remarkable projects, such as the Jobim Morelenbaum Quartet and the Jobim Trio, with which he toured the world and spread his grandfather's work. One of the most emblematic moments of his career took place at the opening ceremony of the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games, when he performed the classic "Garota de Ipanema" on the piano while the model Gisele Bündchen walked the runway at the Maracanã.
In addition to his work with the bossa nova lineage, Daniel Jobim has established partnerships with fundamental names in our music, such as Milton Nascimento, with whom he released the album "Novas bossas", and more recently with the singer Seu Jorge, on tours that revisit the Jobim repertoire in Brazil and abroad. His work as a producer has also earned him international recognition, including winning a Grammy award for the album "Antônio Brasileiro".
