Biography

Daniel Santiago is a renowned Brazilian acoustic and electric guitarist, composer, and arranger, born in Brasília, Distrito Federal, in 1979. His musical career had a promising start at age 19, when he founded the Brasília Brasil Trio, alongside notable musicians such as Hamilton de Holanda and Rogério Caetano. With the trio, he released the acclaimed album "Abre Alas" in 2001, marking his entry into the Brazilian music scene with original compositions and innovative arrangements.

Throughout his career, Daniel Santiago has built a solid path, with influences that range from 70s and 80s rock, contemporary jazz, and rich Brazilian musical traditions. This fusion of styles results in a unique and expressive sonic language, which has earned him collaborations with major names in national and international music, such as Milton Nascimento, João Bosco, Hermeto Pascoal, Kurt Rosenwinkel, and Eric Clapton. His ability to translate deep emotions through music is frequently highlighted by critics and professional peers.

Santiago is recognized not only for his work as an instrumentalist and composer, but also as a music producer and educator. He has released successful solo albums, such as "On the Way" (2006) and "Metrópole" (2009), in addition to having participated in more than ten albums with Hamilton de Holanda, which earned several Latin Grammy nominations. In 2017, he was nominated for a Latin Grammy in the "Producer of the Year" category.
