Biography

Danilo Timm is a multifaceted Brazilian queer artist, known for his versatility as a singer, songwriter, actor, producer, and director. Born in Brasília, Timm began his career in musical theater in Brazil, participating in acclaimed productions such as "Hair" (2010), "Elis, a musical" (2012), and "Xanadu". His artistic journey led him to Berlin, Germany, in 2014, where he expanded his work beyond theater, becoming a relevant name in the independent music scene. Timm is the founder and director of the a cappella groups HeartChor and OhMyChoir!, as well as the vocalist and founder of the electronic project Passiflora Live and the band Aquafaba. His drag persona, Deloris Delight, is also an important expression of his art. In 2023, Timm released his first solo album, "NiLØ", which explores themes of gender fluidity and cultural transformation, blending genres like MPB, jazz, funk, and soul. His participation as a semifinalist on "The Voice of Germany" in 2023 further solidified his international recognition.

Throughout his career, Danilo Timm has demonstrated a remarkable ability to transition between different artistic universes, always with a strong queer identity and an innovative approach. His experience in Brazilian musical theater endowed him with dramatic depth and stage mastery that are reflected in his musical performances. Moving to Berlin opened new doors for sonic experimentation and collaboration with artists of various nationalities, resulting in projects that merge Brazilian influences with global sounds. The album "NiLØ" is a reflection of this journey, presenting a rich sonic tapestry ranging from Brazilian grooves to synth-pop beats, passing through jazz ballads and neo-soul soundscapes.

Danilo Timm also stands out for his engagement with the community and for using his art as a platform for messages of acceptance, body positivity, and self-love. As the director of the HeartChor collective, he promotes performances that celebrate diversity and encourage self-expression. His music, sung in Portuguese, English, and German, connects with audiences through its contagious energy and lyrics that address universal themes of love, identity, and resilience. His nomination for the Listen To Berlin Artist Award and the inclusion of his music in international compilations attest to the impact of his work on the contemporary music scene.
