Biography

Danimar, born Carlos Alberto Soares in São Carlos on September 23, 1965, is a prominent Brazilian singer and songwriter known for his prolific contributions to the sertanejo genre. Beginning his songwriting career in 1990, he forged a highly successful partnership with Carlos Randall, establishing themselves as one of the most admired songwriting duos of the 1990s. Over his career, he has written over 2,000 compositions, with his songs recorded by numerous renowned Brazilian artists such as Chitãozinho & Xororó, Bruno & Marrone, Daniel, and Zezé Di Camargo & Luciano.

His breakthrough as a major hitmaker came in 1994 when tracks like "Sintonizo o Coração" and "A Gente Fica Sem Se Amar," co-written with Carlos Randall and Tivas, were recorded by Zezé Di Camargo & Luciano and achieved national success. Throughout the decades, he penned numerous other major hits including "Do outro lado da cidade," "Dois corações e uma história," and "Prazer por Prazer," cementing his legacy as a pillar of modern Brazilian country music. Alongside his extensive songwriting catalogue, he also performed as part of the duo Diego & Danimar alongside his brother Diego, and later launched solo presentation projects highlighting his work.
