Biography

Davi Fernandes, born David Fernandes Abreu in Rio de Janeiro in 1975, is a prominent Brazilian contemporary Christian music singer, songwriter, and pastor. Raised in a Christian family, he began singing in a children's choir at the age of seven and later formed the national success band Primeira Essência, recording two albums with MK Music. After embarking on a solo career in 2004, he established himself as a prolific songwriter within the evangelical community, collaborating with major artists such as Aline Barros, Fernanda Brum, and Trazendo a Arca.

Throughout his career, Fernandes has released notable solo projects, including Som da Noiva, Jardim em Chamas, Som de Davi, and Minha História Vai mudar. His composition "Confio em Ti", recorded by Davi Sacer, received a nomination for Best Song at the Troféu Promessas 2011. In addition to his solo work, he has worked closely with other prominent Christian acts like Eyshila, Bruna Karla, and Cristina Mel, cementing his reputation as one of the genre's key composers.

Currently, Davi serves as a pastor and leads the band Cultura do Céu, which incorporates pop rock and electronic influences inspired by international worship movements. Alongside his musical endeavors, he is a dedicated family man, working alongside his sons Kaleb and Josh, who are also active worship ministers. His enduring influence in Brazilian Christian music aligns him with contemporaries like Marcus Salles and Jairo Bonfim.
