Biography

David Martin Quinlan is a contemporary Christian music singer, songwriter, and pastor born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, who has spent the vast majority of his life living and ministering in Brazil. He moved to Brazil with his missionary parents at the age of five and grew up between Brazil, England, and Ireland, eventually getting deeply involved in church music in cities like Belo Horizonte and Itabirito. After abandoning a dream of becoming an airplane pilot, he fully dedicated himself to gospel music, working alongside American missionaries Dan and Marti Duke and establishing himself as a prominent figure in Brazilian Christian music.

Quinlan achieved national renown with his landmark congregational album Fogo e Glória Curitiba, which became a classic within Brazilian churches, followed by successful releases such as Abraça-me and Águas Profundas. Throughout his extensive career spanning over three decades, he has collaborated with numerous notable figures in the Brazilian gospel scene, including Ana Paula Valadão, Ludmila Ferber, Antônio Cirilo, Nívea Soares, and Heloisa Rosa. His work has earned him nominations at major Brazilian Christian music awards, such as Troféu Talento and Promessas.

As a member of the Igreja Batista Getsêmani in Belo Horizonte, Quinlan has continued to tour extensively across Brazil to spread his faith through music. Over the years, he has released albums through various record labels, including CanZion Brasil, Som Livre, and Gravadora Brasas. His enduring influence on contemporary worship music places him alongside other renowned Brazilian Christian artists.
