Biography

Formed in Vitória, Espírito Santo, in 1991, Dead Fish established itself as one of the most influential names in Brazilian melodic hardcore. Originally named Stage Dive, the band emerged among skateboarding friends who, inspired by the punk and hardcore scene, decided to compose their own songs. The group went through several changes in its original lineup, establishing Rodrigo Lima as the central figure and vocalist since the early years of the band's actual journey.

The group's independent path was marked by the release of emblematic albums such as 'Sirva-se' and 'Sonho Médio', the latter considered a milestone for the genre in Brazil. In a self-management move, they created the label Terceiro Mundo Produções Fonográficas, through which they released their own work and that of other names in the scene, such as Sugar Kane and Noção de Nada. Massive national projection came in 2004 with the album 'Zero e Um', released by the Deckdisc record label, which earned the band the Breakthrough Artist award at MTV Brazil's VMB.

Over the decades, Dead Fish has maintained a strong progressive political stance and an extremely loyal fan base. In 2014, they demonstrated their strength by carrying out one of the largest crowdfunding campaigns in Brazilian music for the recording of the album 'Vitória'. With over thirty years on the road, the band remains active, releasing dense works like 'Ponto Cego' and celebrating their history with live recordings that reaffirm their place in the pantheon of national rock, maintaining connections with other exponents like CPM 22, to which former guitarist Phil Fargnoli migrated.
