Biography

Débora Carla do Carmo Carneiro, artistically known as Débora Brasil, was born in Salvador, Bahia, on November 19, 1970. She achieved national notoriety in 1995 by joining the group É o Tchan! as its first dancer, which at the time still went by the name Gera Samba. Alongside prominent figures like Carla Perez and Jacaré, she helped consolidate the band's success in the Brazilian music scene.

In 1997, facing inflammatory knee problems aggravated by the intense dance routine and dealing with a panic disorder crisis resulting from sudden fame, Débora chose to leave the group. Her position was later filled by Scheila Carvalho, chosen in a contest held on the Domingão do Faustão TV show. After leaving É o Tchan!, she also worked as the lead singer of the group Dengo de Mulher between 1997 and 1998, before stepping away from the stage and her secular artistic career.

In the following years, Débora's path underwent a profound personal and professional transformation when, in 2002, she became an evangelical missionary. She began traveling the country dedicating herself to preaching and Christian events, in addition to briefly returning to television between 2016 and 2018 as the host of the program Na Lente, on TV Ambiental in Vitória, alongside journalist Helton Carvalho. During her public and artistic life, she also maintained a relationship with singer Beto Jamaica between 1995 and 1999.
