Biography
Deco Fiori is a Brazilian tenor vocalist and vocal coach who has made significant contributions to the a cappella and MPB (Música Popular Brasileira) scenes. His career began with participation in the Coral do Rio and later as a vocalist for the Rio Jazz Orchestra. He was also a member of the chamber ensemble Brasil Barroco and served as a vocal coach for the Grupo Equale. Fiori gained wider recognition as a member of the vocal group Vox4, which was nominated for the Prêmio Sharp for Best MPB Group in 1997. His work with Vox4 highlighted his versatility and skill in vocal arrangements.
In 2000, Fiori co-founded BR6, a groundbreaking a cappella group that became a pioneer in performing music without instrumental accompaniment. With BR6, he recorded four albums, including "BR6" (2004) and "Here to Stay" (2008), which featured interpretations of classic Brazilian and international songs. The group's innovative approach to vocal music garnered critical acclaim and expanded the possibilities of a cappella performance within Brazil. BR6's performances and recordings showcased Fiori's talent as a lead vocalist and his dedication to the a cappella art form.
More recently, Deco Fiori has embarked on a solo career, releasing his debut authorial album in 2024. This project features ten of his own compositions, reflecting his personal artistic vision and musical journey. His influences range from The Beatles and Clube da Esquina to Stevie Wonder and Guilherme Arantes, blending these inspirations into a unique sound. Fiori aims to present his new show with a rich harmonic and timbral palette, emphasizing the importance of live performance and physical media like vinyl, which he feels complements his music.
